The waterproof breathable technology used keeps you dry and warm in colder weather and dry and cool in warmer conditions. Descente’s ski jackets and pants come in 20,000mm and 10,000mm waterproofness. The membrane used for the ski and snowboard jackets prevents the water droplets to penetrate, but allows the smaller perspiration vapor to pass through easily, wicking it away from your skin, allowing the moisture to evaporate and yet retaining your body heat. DT20000 heavy-duty fabric combines superior waterproofness and moisture permeability with enhanced durability while maintaining a soft, smooth texture. The DT20000 fabric of this ski jacket has a high resistance to water pressure and maintains its waterproofness throughout rigorous use and wear. DT20000 works to minimize the build-up of condensation preventing the fabrics inner layer from freezing and effectively assists breathability. The water repellent surface of a ski jacket with DT20000 fabric partners the waterproofness and breathability, allowing wicking and moisture transfer away from the body while keeping water droplets from penetrating the fabric. Build up of perspiration is wicked away from the body while protecting against water penetration, keeping you warm and dry. Descente is the first to use negative ions to enhance sportswear performance. Negative ions are now widely recognized as having a positive effect on both the mind and body. The refreshing feeling that we get while in the forest or by a waterfall is due to the negative ions abundant in such places. They are said to promote blood circulation and have a healing effect on the body. Minerals which generate negative ions are powdered and impregnated into fibers used in the fabric. Titan Thermo coated fiber layer reflects your body generated heat and the warmth created by the brushed lining and the insulation of the ski jacket. A Titan Thermo sheet with special heat retaining properties is inserted in the lining of the fabric of this Descente ski jacket. This sheet allows body moisture/perspiration to move away from the body. Heat is retained inside the jacket similar to a thermos bottle.
